Getting started
Five minutes from signup to your first conversation. Nothing to install: PixelBureau runs in your browser, on a computer or a phone.
Create your space
- Open the signup page, enter your email address, then “Create my space”.
- You receive a sign-in link by email. It is valid for 15 minutes and works only once.
- Click it: PixelBureau guides you to name your space, choose its layout and size, then invite your colleagues. No password to create.
Check your camera and microphone
Before entering, the “Ready to join?” screen shows your camera preview and your microphone level. Choose your devices, then click “Join”. Everything is switched off when you enter: they only turn on when you talk to someone.
Camera and microphone blocked? You can still join as a spectator and allow them later in your browser’s site settings.
Take the tour
On your first visit, a short guide shows you how to move and talk. You can also choose your character there, and admins can invite their colleagues right away.
Your status and profile
Click “My profile” in the bottom bar: choose “Available”, “Busy” or “Away”. “Busy” turns off nearby conversations and secondary notifications, except in a meeting room. “Update your status” adds a short message. “Edit profile” opens “Settings › Profile”: your photo, shown round in the bar, call tiles and “Here”, your name, your time zone and your character. The same panel opens “Settings” (also ⌘, on a Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows): your preferences, and for admins the “Administration” part. It also lets you log out.
Several spaces
You can belong to several spaces with the same email address. Switch between them from the badge at the top left, under “My spaces”.
